– Re: Error code on one laptop whilst other wor – Zoom Community

Check to make sure you’re connected to a stable network that cannot be blocked by a firewall or proxy. I can see from searching elsewhere that this error code is common with a range of possible resolutions, but none seem to work for me restarting the computer, I have all the latest driver updates, status of Zoom servers is fine, reset Network Adapter settings, added Zoom as a trusted site.

I have tried the obvious ones and only installed Zoom a couple of days ago so it must be the latest version. What is particularly odd is that I have an older HP laptop on which the Zoom Windows desktop client works fine. This other laptop is on the same wi-fi network, both use Norton and both are Windows 10 laptops.

I was just wondering if this information might help to narrow down what the problem might be and if anyone has any ideas? Thanks for reaching out to us. Have you attempted to disable the local firewall on the new laptop? Also, can you confirm that both laptops are on the same network?

The Norton software, which is installed on both laptops, controls the firewall. Can you attempt to connect to a Zoom meeting on the impacted laptop via a hardlined ethernet connection instead of Wifi?

Please attempt to connect to the meeting via a hardlined connection this will answer a lot of networking variable questions AND ALSO turn off both the AV and system firewall I’m guessing there is a port blocked somewhere. Tried the above fixes, but nothing seemed to work. Was finally able to fix it by updating Windows to newest version and installing this audio driver from hp’s website. I did also implement the above fix, so it’s possible it helped too. ProBook G6’s here I had users start complaining about a week ago, when Teams call use ramped up for those users. I expect it was happening all along, but those users were on shorter, less frequent video calls.

That setting seems to have helped most users but it came back for others , so I think that the hardware acceleration also causes or exacerbates the random muting behavior. Hello shall3, thank you for the information you share–” I will ping you for additional information. Have a good week. I will report if it comes back after I instructed a proper restart they normally shut the laptop lid to trigger shutdown, and reopening triggers startup , as Fast Startup is enabled on those laptops, and I imagine that restarts only happen when prompted due to updates.

Of the few that we’ve unpackaged, most of them have had issues where the microphone intermittently stops working properly, not just for Skype and Zoom, but for Microsoft Voice Recorder as well. It still picks up some sound, but you have to be against the microphone and the output is just white noise. Unfortunately, the fix has not corrected the problem. Laptop is currently on Windows 10 ver.

Solved: Zoom and Windows 11 – Zoom Community. Is Your Webcam Not Working on Zoom? Here’s What to Do

Here’s how to make sure you’re not on mute:.

Can you use zoom on hp laptop – none:.We’re now downloading Zoom …

Work through these suggestions until you find the one that gets your microphone working again. Make sure your microphone isn’t on mute. There are various reasons you may have muted your microphone, or you may have accidentally muted it. Here’s how to make sure you’re not on mute:. The software you are using might also have a mute button. Make sure the mute feature isn’t enabled. Restart your Windows computer. It’s incredible how much a simple restart can fix on your computer. If you’re having trouble connecting a microphone, try restarting the computer and then start again with the microphone.

Disable other Bluetooth devices if you’re using a wireless microphone. Like you have to turn Bluetooth on for wireless devices , if you’re using multiple Bluetooth devices with your HP laptop, you may have to disable those devices before connecting a different wireless microphone to your computer. Try making sure no other Bluetooth devices are connected, then reconnect the wireless microphone.

Check your Windows sound settings. Sometimes, Windows selects the wrong microphone as default. It’s especially true if you sometimes use an external mic instead of the laptop’s built-in mic.

Make sure the mic you are currently using is the default. Use the HP Support Assistant to check your audio. HP provides a Support Assistant to help you determine if there is a problem with the microphone on your computer or with an external microphone. To use it:. Check the device manager.

Then expand the Audio inputs and outputs section and select your mic. There should be no yellow or red checkmarks in the Device Status section or other indications that the microphone isn’t connected. If there is, unplug the microphone and plug it back in again to see if it fixes the problem. Update your device drivers. An out-of-date device driver could cause your microphone not to connect.

Update the drivers and then try again. Update Windows. If Windows is out of date, it’s possible Windows doesn’t have the appropriate protocols to operate the microphone. Update your Windows installation to see if this fixes the problem. If none of these suggestions worked for you, there’s probably a more extensive problem a computer repair specialist can address.

Once you start digging around inside a laptop, many things can go wrong. So, if you’re still under warranty, give HP a call; otherwise, check with your local computer repair shop to find the solution you need to get your microphone back online.

Generally, laptop microphones are built into the top of the display near the webcam. Some models put it above the keyboard instead. Inspect your laptop’s body and bezels for one or multiple small holes to find the microphone.

No liquids spilled. Audio drivers up to date. My f5 and f8 buttons randomly mute me while I am on Zoom and Skype calls. When I unmute it will re-mute, sometimes within seconds, other times within minutes. I am also having problems with my microphone jack. It refuses to play out of my headphones when plugged in. That laptop has many different options and as Priscilla HP states you need to provide more details:.

If none of the actions suggested above did not work including updating the BIOS then I would try a Live Linux Distro to see if the issue was hardware or not. If it is hardware then the issue will be the same with Linux. There is no need to install Linux to the hard drive to try it. I’m having the exact same issue.

This is a brand new computer, 2 weeks old. Thanks everyone, for your responses – especially to BLC61 for the detailed solution above, from real-life experience. My colleague worked on this with Zoom and here is the information that he has provided to our coworkers.

This seems to be prevalent on HP laptops. This comes straight from Zoom support: “It sounds like echo cancellation kicking in. If you have open speakers built-in for the laptop and built-in mic. To avoid terrible echo, your microphone is muting itself, if you are not manually doing so. I’d recommend lowering the volume [of your speakers] or using a headset to avoid that.

I believe it is good to have BLC61’s steps on hand also. We have not received any additional complaints for a few days now. I am praying it stays that way. Had this problem come up on two laptops – same model HP Probook G6. Tried the above fixes, but nothing seemed to work.
