Thanks for letting me know about the Print Layout and Web Layout buttons at bottom of screen. But it happened in both my computers, so it’s hard to believe I could make that same mistake twice. I’m thinking it was caused from an auto update from Microsoft.
Thanks for the info. It seems I caught the bug because my nice page layout was there the last day I worked on it, then it was gone the next day when I opened it. Yes, as I mentioned in my original post, I figured this out soon after it happened. Hopefully, this discussion will help the community. Suzanne has reported this to the Office team. While waiting for a fix, you can force Print Layout view by adding these macros to the Normal template:.

I discovered the problem was that the View setting was mysteriously changed from Print Layout to Web Layout. I changed it back to Print Layout and it fixed the problem.

Just manually changing it back to Print Layout should work, though.
