I have been using zoom just fine all month but over last few times the mic no longer recognizes my voice. When I test it out the input levels do not react.
I have this problem only on zoom as my microphone works on my computer just fine. I am on a Windows 10 device and have zoom client 5.

I tried different troubleshooting options, I uninstalled and reinstalled zoom, but still same issue. Issue is only with zoom and audio works fine for other apps in windows 10, 64 bit. I tried changing Signal processing and whenever I change the option and test speaker, I just hear a beep with very poor sound quality and cannot hear anything after that.
I believe something happened when the latest update to Zoom Client was installed. Hot of the miic fixes work, noh uninstalling and reinstalling the Zoom Client does not work because it installs the latest version. I believe someone at Zoom needs to imc at the last update and find out what went wrong.

Make sure you properly set up your mic in Windows and select the audio input you want on Mac. Close other programs that use your mic. Make sure other software isn’t competing for access to your microphone. Check your app permissions. Go into your device’s app settings and ensure Zoom has permission to access your microphone. Update your device’s drivers. If you’re using Windows, go into the Device Manager to ensure your mic’s drivers are up-to-date.
Reboot your device. The reason why rebooting resolves computer problems is that it closes any processes that might be interfering with hardware or software. Mute other nearby audio devices. If you hear an echo, your microphone might be picking up the audio from another source, like a TV or speaker.
To avoid hearing an echo in Zoom, everyone should mute their mic when not speaking. Meeting organizers can mute everyone else in the meeting. Then, click Privacy. If not, please proceed to the next fix. The wrong settings, such as the microphone being muted or not set as the default device or the too low volume, will prevent your microphone from working normally on Zoom. So you should configure everything in the settings correctly. Then, type control and click OK.
Then, click Sound. Then, right-click on any empty area and tick Show Disabled Devices. If not, right-click it and click Enable. If not, click it and click Set Default. If your microphone is muted, click the speaker icon to unmute it. Then, drag the slider to set the microphone volume to the max.
After settings are applied as above, your microphone should be working fine. Since you have done most of the troubleshooting, reinstalling the Zoom client, system driver and tested the integrated mic as well as the USB mic.
I would like to confirm on the permissions that you mentioned; for the camera after doing the drivers install ,. That could be one of the reasons why your camera is not working on Zoom. I already checked these permissions, as Zoom’s knowledge base recommends doing so. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield anything. Forgive me for reiterating, but I’m only facing these issues with Zoom.
Thank you for updating us on this. I needed to reinstall windows and replicate the issue. However, with what you mentioned, upgrading to Windows 11 solved the issue is quite weird, there may have been an issue with the operating system itself. It’s worth mentioning that a colleague of mine has been facing the same issue on his Windows 10 machine.
Since upgrading to Windows 11 isn’t an option for him, I did some troubleshooting for him. The workaround at which we arrived is to have him join Meetings using Edge. It’s been working flawlessly. Zoom usually requests access to your mic before you join a meeting, but in case you missed it, you can select Join Audio at the bottom of the Zoom window.
If the microphone icon has a line through it in your Zoom window, select the Sound icon to unmute yourself. During a meeting, select the up arrow next to the Microphone icon and make sure the desired mic is active. If you think the meeting host has inadvertently muted you, send them a message in chat and ask to be unmuted.
