But every time I join a meeting, the video from the host and other participants is laggy with low frames per second FPS lower than 15 , and the video resolution decreases to x First, I thought it was my internet connection the problem, then I did a speedtest using speedtest.

Also, sometimes i got kicked out of the room for no reason My friends and other participants too! The thing I noticed from your post is that you are from China but for some reason, your calls are getting connected via the US data centers.

It is my best guess that it’s happening because of the call routing which is happening via the US data center. If you are a pro user, you should be able to select data center for your connection. I’m using free account, and I’m NOT the host for most of my meetings. The meeting host mostly my school’s admin and my company’s boss and they both not good at tech and because of COVID so I can’t reach them.

Is there a way to solve this without pro account? We have run up to 4 or 5 Zoom meetings in the house at one time with no problems until about 3 or 4 weeks ago then suddenly not even 1 meeting on its own will show participants video or share screen.

This is the same whether on a mobile device or Windows desktop. I am in California and am having the same bandwidth error. Had my Xfinity internet checked and I am OK. Is there a workaround for this? I am just joining meetings, Not the host.

My problem was resolved. My internet provider also checked and said everything was ok. I persisted and one of the tech guys went through and did a whole lot of resets etc, just stabbing in the dark – nothing changed. They changed it and I have had no trouble since.

It’s a faster and more reliable connection. Since I travel quite a bit, I bring a foot Ethernet cable with me in case I have access to an Ethernet port to plug into. Use your cell phone as a mobile hotspot and log into Zoom using your mobile data. Generally, the further you are from the router, the weaker and slower the signal will be.

I have a similar problem using Zoom on a Macbook Pro, hardwired through the device provided by my ISP, no other devices or programs running. I always assumed it was my ISP, which has had a lot of its own problems with reliability. My plan is to to try switching ISPs as soon as I can. Anyone else try this? Also, I’m typically using a Zoom corporate account hosting one other person. I plan to host an event of about 40 people on my own Pro account.

I’m wondering if having more people in the room could make the problem worse? I do not believe that it is the number of people who are on that is the real problem. I think that it has more to how much stuff you have running at the same time. Zoom is a memory hog, which I think is the real problem, but I have noticed that when I shut down any program I don’t need I have less trouble with Zoom.

Though that can be a problem in itself as I often need Word running and I also run some videos during some Zoom sessions. Bummer for memory usage. I have had the same problem since starting with zoom. I get this speed test even with multiple apps open, and 10 tabs open in Firefox. My wife connects to our network over wifi and does not have this issue with Zoom. I am too far for wifi unless i use extender or add access points.

I am fairly knowledgeable on computers and have been unable to find a satisfactory explanation or solution. Closing down all other apps is not a good solution for me. I have taken to dialing in via cellphone for audio so that I can hear and be heard without glitches, and use my desktop just for video. This is annoying to me and other users, as i have 2 boxes on the gallery view, people can’t tell when I am unmuted on my cellphone because my video always shows muted and when I start speaking, people always call out “you are on mute.

I know another user in a wired home ethernet network with the same issue. Has had IT visit the home without a satisfactory solution. This appears to be a zoom-related issue, as the network icon only goes red when using zoom as far as I can tell. This whole thread is a joke. It has everything to do with a bug in the zoom code. Aim for the right internet speeds for a successful video chat. When talking with multiple people in a team setting, you want the upload speed around 1Mbps and the download speed around Kbps.
